In today’s Swift tutorial I discuss the UIViewController’s life cycle methods. These methods are viewDidLoad, viewWillAppear, viewDidAppear, viewWillDisappear, viewDidDisappear, viewWillLayoutSubviews and viewDidLayoutSubviews. I talk about what they are, when they are called as well has how and when to use each one. I also walk through a common example of when to use viewDidLoad vs. viewWillAppear.

This tutorial was created using Xcode 11.3 and Swift 5.1.

If you like my teaching style, I’ve released my first iOS dev course which is all about the take-home project job interview for iOS developers.
