Welcome to another easy piano tutorial from Merriam’s Online Academy. Today, we’re going to be learning how to play “The More We Get Together” on the piano.

This is a video for beginner piano players. You don’t need to know a lot about piano, but you do need to know how to read notes on the staff. You will also need to know eighth notes, the dotted quarter, and also what a sharp is.

The More We Get Together is a traditional children’s song and its tune was taken from a Viennese tune in the 1600s. The More We Get Together is a great friendship song for kids.

If you’re not familiar with any of those or you need a refresher, check out some of our other videos on those and then come on back. Once you’re ready, you can download the music in the description above and play along. Before we dive right into today’s piano lesson, I’ll play all the way through for you.

We’ve laid this piano tutorial out as a stand-alone video, or as a practice aid to use within an existing lesson system.
