Unity racing game tutorial in 2d part 1, in this tutorial we will be building a basic 2d racing game for mobile in unity. Here is the assets for this tutorial.
You will learn to build a game which uses mobile controls. To control a 2d top down car which races on a 2d road, trying to avoid potholes and pickup items along the way. Some of the unity principles you will learn is rigidbodies, ontrigger events, ui and menu creation, building for android and more. Our racing game will consist of a car sprite which is controlled by a c# script to allow our player to move left or right to avoid potholes. We will build a start menu with a car image to make our game have a main menu and splash screen. We also will create a restart menu and implement unity ads so that you can bring in the bacon when deploying to the android or apple store. We add cloud or haze effects using a transparent sprite and material and make the background move to create a foggy atmospheric scene which in our racing game will take place.
